The prices above include the assembly "CA 1010" for both 1/8" and 3/16" cable which is at the top of the group photo and shown separately above (click on photo to go to a larger photo and use "Back" button to return. Icons should appear on the enlarged photo to enlarge it even more). "click here for group photo" They also include all std. stainless nuts, cap nuts and washers that would be used with each assembly plus a few extras that are always thrown in with a normal order of several cable assemblies.
The assembly consists of one stud factory swaged and one end field installed with cable in the lengths specified. We almost always use at least an extra ft. if not two of cable when we install the same system. This allows something to hang onto when first hand tightening the cable to make sure everything is OK prior to cutting the cable. We can do finished length assemblies if you wish, but would need some very accurate measurements and you would be responsible for the length given us. There always seems to some variable on site that caused length problems and that is why we prefer to sell in this manner to allow you to judge and cut to length each cable in the field. We strongly feel that it prevents a lot of errors and lost time on site. The 5 ft. increments are a guideline for your pricing needs. We can cut to your specs. if needed and adjust the price accordingly. Cable is pretty inexpensive, the real cost is in the fittings. See graph below.
We are just getting pricing up on the net and you can consider this format to be in draft form. Trying to include drawings or photos to help explain the advantage of making your runs as long as possible before stopping and starting again.
There is a large price drop per linear ft. with as the lengths of the assemblies get longer since the same fittings are used whether the cable is 5 ft. or 70 ft. The graph below shows that clearly. It also shows that once the 35 ft. range is approached the cost of cable is less than or comparable with glass infill panels which your customers might be surprised at.
