The prices above include the assemblies "CA 1020" and
"CA1030" for both
1/8" and 3/16" cable which is near the top of the
group photo and shown separately above (click on photo to go to a larger
photo and use "Back" button
to return. Icons should appear on the enlarged photo to enlarge it even more). "click here for group photo" They also include all
std. stainless nuts, cap nuts and washers that would be used with each assembly
plus a few extras that are always thrown in with a normal order of several cable
assemblies.
Note the XX after the 50 ft. length. Since you have only one adjuster (threaded stud) on this assembly this is pushing the limit in length of what you can do with this assembly unless you add a Turnbuckle which will allow the longer lengths due mainly to the available cable adjustment within the Turnbuckle. With the costs shown you can see why the CA1010 is the more versatile (two adjusters) and yes, less expensive per unit than this configuration.
The assembly (CA1020/CA1030) consists of one short stud factory swaged with a "Dome" or "Ball" installed and a Threaded Stud on the other (factory swaged or field crimped) which is where the cable tightening is done. We almost always use at least an extra ft. if not two of cable when we install the same system. This allows something to hang onto when first hand tightening the cable to make sure everything is OK prior to cutting the cable. We can do finished length assemblies if you wish, but would need some very accurate measurements and you would be responsible for the length given us. There always seems to some variable on site that causes length problems and that is why we prefer to sell in this manner to allow you to judge and cut to length each cable in the field. We strongly feel that it prevents a lot of errors and lost time on site.. The 5 ft. increments are a guideline for your pricing needs. We can cut to your specs. if needed and adjust the price accordingly. Cable is pretty inexpensive, the real cost is in the fittings. The graph shown on the CA1010 page is relative to these assemblies below.
We are just getting pricing up on the net and you can consider this format to be in draft form. Trying to include drawings or photos to help explain the advantage of making your runs as long as possible before stopping and starting again.
There is a large price drop per linear ft. as the lengths of the assemblies get longer since the same fittings are used whether the cable is 5 ft. or 70 ft. The graph shown on CA1010 shows that clearly. It also shows that once the 40 ft. range is approached the cost of cable is less than or comparable with glass infill panels which your customers might be surprised at.
