The prices above include the assembly "CA 1040 and CA1050 for both
1/8" and 3/16" cable which is near the middle of the
group photo or see photo at top of page (click on photo to go to a
larger photo and use "Back" button
to return. Icons should appear on the enlarged photo to enlarge it even more). "click here for group photo" They also include the
washers for the left side as shown and the threaded end plus stainless nut and
cap nut. They do not include the hardware you might use with the "Deck Terminal"
(CA1040) end since we don't know what you will be attaching the end onto (wood,
aluminum or steel).
Note the XX after the 50 ft. length. Since you have only one adjuster (Threaded Stud) on this assembly this is pushing the limit in length of what you can do with this assembly unless you add a Turnbuckle which will allow the longer lengths due mainly to the available cable adjustment within the Turnbuckle. These two end fittings are used mostly with angular applications such as stairs or with welded posts where you normally see a welded bar or tabs on one side of the end posts where CA1050 would attach easily with the 1/4" pin provided.
In some cases you can have a Turnbuckle with the "Deck Toggle" or "Toggle Jaw" fitting on one end (See CA1060) which would give you a Turnbuckle as needed and eliminate an extra end fitting. These details get a little more complicated and are best called into us so we can assist with the proper cable planning.
The assemblies above (CA1040 and CA1050) consists of the "Deck Toggle" and "Toggle Jaw" that are usually factory installed with the other end usually a Threaded Stud Hand Crimp.. We almost always use at least an extra ft. if not two of cable when we install the same system. This allows something to hang onto when first hand tightening the cable to make sure everything is OK prior to cutting the cable. We can do finished length assemblies if you wish, but would need some very accurate measurements and you would be responsible for the length given us. There always seems to some variable on site that caused length problems and that is why we prefer to sell in this manner to allow you to judge and cut to length each cable in the field. We strongly feel that it prevents a lot of errors and lost time on site.. The 5 ft. increments are a guideline for your pricing needs. We can cut to your specs. if needed and adjust the price accordingly. Cable is pretty inexpensive, the real cost is in the fittings. The graph shown on the CA1010 page is relative to these assemblies below.
We are just getting pricing up on the net and you can consider this format to be in draft form. Trying to include drawings or photos to help explain the advantage of making your runs as long as possible before stopping and starting again.
There is a large price drop per linear ft. as the lengths of the assemblies get longer since the same fittings are used whether the cable is 5 ft. or 70 ft. The graph shown on CA1010shows that clearly. It also shows that once the 40 ft. range is approached the cost of cable is less than or comparable with glass infill panels which your customers might be surprised at.
