 Waterfront Cable Railing Renovation

(Or your house on any waterfront, USA)

This was a project where we worked with the homeowner and a local contractor to renovate an existing deck railing. Wooden railings were removed and new heavier posts with top rail were installed. The homeowner was very happy with the finished job and you can see why. View in the right photo is back towards the mouth of the harbor. The wooden framing blended well with the surroundings especially the water view and the cable almost disappears into the background. Notice: there is also no glass to clean! We can supply cable like this for a similar project anywhere in the U.S. and advise your contractor on how to do the installation.

The two photos below show one end and the front face of the deck. Notice the use of a two post corner. This was done to allow a choice of either running the cable on through or stopping and starting at the corners. We had to use the CA1060 on the post next to the wall in the photo on the left since there wasn't enough room to get behind it to adjust the cable. That is most of the reason everyone decided on using three separate cable runs.

The photos  below show the other side of the deck and another view out toward  the water. Both show again how the cable almost vanishes in the background (no bird strikes, glass to get dirty and have to clean either!). Makes for a very natural looking end result.

Have a good day.
